Linda who is a British woman asked me to have coffee. I met her on the blog.
She said “ I wanna talk to you about cooking while having coffee. “
Of course she is more than welcome!
I’ve wanted female foreigner friends near my house.
I’ve wanted to talk with them about various things in English like talking with Japanese
female friends.
It must work improving my English conversation skills and I could broaden my horizons
while knowing various sense of worth through her.
But I’m a little bit nervous because we meet up in person for the first time.
I think I’ll pick up topics that I wanna talk with her.
There is a thing that I realized myself since I was in the forth grade in elementary school.
I thought I wanna be a person who can make people fun when I talk with them.

Since then I try to make people fun to talk about various things and care to do it everywhere.
It’s not that I read books for it but reading books works for it.
I’m remembering a thing when I was in college.
When I talked with a boy whom I had a crush on the phone, I got nervous and I realized
I couldn’t talk to him about even a half of topics that I wanted to talk to after the
phone. So I decided to write down topics in the notebook when I came up with.
On the other day I read an article about the art of making topics when sales meets new
customers for the first time. It is said it’s one of good way to write down easy topics in the
notebooks for it.
The thing that I used to is not bad to live in the society.
Anyway, what am I talking with Linda?
海外ブログで知り合ったイギリス人のlindaから、「珈琲でも飲みながら、あなたと料理の話が
したいわ～。」と誘われた。
もちろん大歓迎である！！！
私はとにかく、自分の家の近くに外国人の女の友達が欲しかったのだ。
普通の日本人の友達と話すように、いろんな話を英語でできる外国人の女の友達が欲しかった。
それは間違いなく私の英語の会話能力を引き上げるし、狭い日本の視野でなく、海外の違う価値観
を吸収することによって、私の世界も広がるに違いない。
でも、初めて会うから、多少の緊張がある。
何が話したいか、考えておきたいな、と思う。
私は小学校４年生の時から、自分で自覚したことがある。
話題が豊富な人で、みんなを楽しませることができる人でありたいということ。
自分がそう思ったことを今でも覚えている。
それから、どこにいても、皆を楽しませられるようによくしゃべり、わりにそういう事に
どこにいても気を遣っている気がする。
だから本をたくさん読んだというわけではないけれど、本は話題を豊富にするのに役立った。
短大生の時だったかな。
好きな人と電話をすると、緊張して、電話をする前には、あれも話したい、これも話したいと
思っていたのに、電話を切ると半分も話せていないことに気がついた。
それから、好きな人に電話をするときは、話したいと思ったことを思いついたときに、ノートに
メモするようになった。
先日日経新聞を見ていたら、営業の初対面で会った人との話題づくりのコツという記事に、日常
から、すぐに出てくる話題をノートに書きとめストックしておく。と書いてあった。
あながち私のやっていた方法は、社会を生き抜いていくのに、悪くない方法だったようだ。
さ～って、lindaとは何話そうかな。
