Can age restrictions in the workplace be justified?
I don't think age restrictions in the workplace can be justified. There are two resons.First, it isn't beneficial to the side of the employers. They might think that the younger candidates are, the more flexible and obedient. But it isn't necessarily the case. It depens on their characters. Individual sharacters varied much more than each ages. You can't tell from their ages if they are right for certain jobs. If you put age restrictions on applicants, you might end up missing important opportunities to meet promising candidates.Second, worship in youth would prevent the socoiey from maturing. If companies promote youthfulness by employing younger people, such tendency will have a major impact on how people think of their lives in the society. If people think that the younger the better, who dare to experience and study more as getting older? Such way of thinking would lead to a lifeless society. Whole concepts of companies are very influential in the society. Today's businesses should be productive to support thier employees' lives and contribute to consumers, but also opinion makers in the society.
