Birth Annniversary of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (P.B.U.H), on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal - the 3rd month of Islamic Calendar.

ISLAMABAD: Renewing their devout and resolute pledge on peace,amity, brotherhood and affinity towards humankind, Muslims across the world celebrated the auspicious Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth day of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad.

Sweets were distributed in all schools, colleges, orphanages, widow and destitute homes, disabled and handicapped person homes and among prisoners.


Like rest of the Muslim world, in Pakistan it was a public holiday. All public and private offices and institutions remained closed with the national Flag waving atop buildings, all-over the country.

Shopping centres, government and semi-government buildings and key public places were tastefully decorated with lights on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). Several programmes were organized on the night between 11 and 12 Rabiul Awwal including the torch bearing processions.

People in many cities of the country organized Na’at Khwani gatherings on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).

The National Seerat Conference Conference in Islamabad was attended by more than 600 participants and was addressed by renowned Ulema and religious scholars.

Prize distribution ceremony hallmarked the inaugural session, wherein authors of best books on Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW), Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (SAW) and position holders in Seerat articles writing received awards and prizes.
