花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

1月31日から2月3日までの間、沖縄を旅行してきた。1月31日と2月1日は那覇に滞在。もちろん、日本最南端の鉄道で、沖縄県唯一の鉄道の沖縄都市モノレール「ゆいレール」にも乗ってきた。


まずは起点・那覇空港駅から終点・首里駅まで一通り乗車。

2両編成の、かわいらしい丸みを帯びた前面と大きな側窓が特徴の1000形車両の先頭車両に乗り込み、乗務員室のすぐ後ろのクロスシートに座る。初めて乗るゆいレールの車両に心が踊った。

ポイントが切り替わり、ホームに琉球民謡「谷茶前」の発車メロディが鳴り、ドアが閉まる。いよいよ初めてのゆいレールの旅が始まる。

大きな車窓から沖縄の景色を眺める。前面展望をしていると、ワンマン運転のため、運転士さんは駅に着く度にドアの明け閉めとホームの監視で、立ったり座ったり忙しい。

琉球民謡をオルゴール調にアレンジした車内チャイムをBGMに、ゆいレールは那覇の市街地へ。赤嶺駅から壺川駅までの間の車窓の下には、南国ムード満点のソテツの木が植えられている。

壺川駅から牧志駅までの間は、市街地の外周を国場川・久茂地川・安里川に沿って走る。安里駅の手前で安里川と別れて、那覇新都心から郊外部へ。

終点・首里駅の1つ手前の儀保駅を発車すると進行右側の車窓に、世界遺産・首里城が見える。世界遺産を横目に見ながら、終点・首里駅に到着。

初めての沖縄、初めてのゆいレールだっただけに、僕の目には、ゆいレールから見た那覇の街は何もかもが新しかった。


Between January 31st and February 3rd, I went travelling around Okinawa Island, which is first time for me to travel there. Especially on the first day and second day I enjoyed travelling with and photographing Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail) in Naha City.

My travel started from Naha Airport Station and I tried to ride to the last stop Shuri Station.

1000 Series, having roundish front and oblong side windows, had come to me. I sat on the transverse seating behind the driver's cab and got exited.

Soon after points are changed and a melody of a Okinawa traditional falk song "Tanchame" played on the platform to inform the train's departure, the doors closed and my travel started.

While the travel, the driver stood up to open and close the doors and check the persons on the platform and sit down as the train stopped at every station due to conductorless operation.

the train ran above the street where the sago cycads are planted until around Tsubogawa Station.

Departing Tsubogawa, the train went into the central area of Naha City and ran along Kokuba, Kumoji, and Asato Rivers to Makishi. The train separated from Asato River soon before arriving Asato Station and went into newly-constructed suburban area.

Departing Gibo Station, one before Shuri terminal, a World Heritage Shuri Castle was seen on the right of the train. Then the train dropped into Shuri Terminal.

Everything of the scenery of Naha City seeing first time from the train saw new.
