Oliver was raised in New York and played football and basketball in high school. "I would be sick and nauseous and have a metal taste in my mouth for three days after each treatment," Oliver said. "My hands and feet would hurt. I told the kids about it and we were all pressing on."
When the treatments ended, Oliver started experiencing pain in his side and went back to the doctor. He told his players about the cancer spreading last week.
