Cafe White Hearts

A couple of baby medaka were hatched in our aquarium this year.
They're so tiny that I can't tell where they are easily. Sometimes hiding in waterweeds. But it's fun to see such pretty little fish swimming in the water, and makes me feel relaxed.
Now they're getting bigger and bigger, in good condition!

By the way, now I remembered some interesting story about tiny fish...
Chibitotoro, one of my friends from U.S., told me that when he saw "chirimen jako"for the first time, he had felt so strange.
He said he thought, "Strange, there're tiny dead fish on foods."
I couldn't but laugh when I heard this funny story. Yes, foods and customs differ from culture to culture.

今年、我が家では２・３匹のメダカが孵化しました。
めっちゃちっこくて、なかなか見つけることができません。ときどき藻の中にも隠れております。でも、水の中でちっこい魚がかわいく泳いでいるのを見るのは楽しいし、癒されます。
健康にすくすく育ってますよ☆

ところで、ちっこい魚にまつわる面白い話を思い出しました。
アメリカから来たちびトトロさんっていう友人の話なんですけど、彼は“ちりめんじゃこ”を初めて見たときに、ほんと奇妙な気分になったそうです。
彼が言うには、「変なの、ちっこい死んだ魚が食べ物の上に乗ってる！」と感じたそうです。
さすがにこれを聞いたときには笑いましたね！そう、文化が変われば、食べ物も習慣も変わるんですね。
