Cable TV
**********Lately one of my favorite cable channel is “Imaginasian TV”. As you can guess this is Asian network intended for new Asian group like 3rd and 4th generation. Although Asian is still minority group in the U.S., the number of people became huge percentage of the populations. The programs provide their own language with English subtitle. In the network, the orders of the programs from all over sea were jumbled together such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnam and so forth…. For example, you can see Japanese animation “Patlabor” every single night around 9 o’clock. At Wednesday night, there seems to show Japanese drama; which is the story about witch that was acted by “Yonekura” something… I do not remember her name. What I watched last night was Korean movie “Art museum by the zoo”. (How should I translate this English title to Japanese? Let’s say “Dobutsu-en no soba no bijyutsu-kan.” It sounds a little wired though.) The story is about love for young couple with sense of humor. The reaction between boy and girl reminds me the Asian custom, which is a little rustic.I think that this cable network is one of the symbol of the global cultural trend; that breakthrough the standard. Wherever we go, we do not have to put up with inconvenience to miss our culture nowadays.
