Wow, the winner of the election last night caught me by suprise. The guy who was in third place in the polls before the election won by about 20% of the votes. I didn't even think he had a chance, so I didn't read up on what he stands for. So now I have no idea who the mayor of my city is. But I do know what he looks like - if anyone has seen Little Nicky with Adam Sandler, the new mayor looks like Adam's gay roomate in the movie. Thats about the best that I can describe him.
Anyway, at least the tax-raising monster is out of office now, and its time to give a new guy a chance. By the way, the guy I voted for ended up in 3rd place, below the winner and the old mayor.
In other no-so-exciting news, at work I finally, finally got my computer back up and running. I never thought I would be happy to be running Windows, but after a week of using an operating system that runs off of a CD and doesn't use the hard drive at all (Knoppix is the name - a Linux based OS), its nice to have something that I can use to do my usual day-to-day work with. Now I'm trying to get my boss's wireless internet gear running, but it's being quite a bitch. I'm just about ready to throw it into the river.
