Tonight I went out with a couple friends to a pool hall. We went to 3 places before we found one that had any table open, every place was so busy.
We started playing, and this guy from another table walks up to us and accuses us of stealing his pool cue. We all kind of look at each other like 'what the hell'? This guy is obviously drunk and is getting mad over nothing. We tell him that we didn' take it and he goes back to his table muttering something and tells his friend about it.
Usually I would not worry about that too much, but we were in Millwoods, a part of Edmonton that is affectionately know as 'gang land'. It is the part of the city where a lot of the gang activity happens. So I was a bit afraid that these guys might be in a gang and something bad was going to happen.
So we started to play pool, and after about half and hour the waitress gives us a jug of beer that we didn't order - tells us that the guy who said we took his cue ordered it for us. Turns out he felt bad about how he was talking to us and wanted to make it up to us. So we end up talking to him throughout the night and everything was ok.
