Plink Punk P!NK
Great, Poppy Upbeat production Mixed with Deep... I her first CD and I like this one even more. Certainly this CD is not the same R&B bumpin' beat CD that her first CD was, but that's . The lyrics of a song is what matters to me and good music just makes the lyrics sound better. Rock, Alt-Rock, Blues. I like different kinds of music and there is a mix of different styles on this CD. The best thing an artist can be is transparent. Pink is not hiding a thing and that is what draws me in. The honesty in her creation is what makes me her music. She has never been a formula produced for the masses. She is a true artist sharing her life with the rest of us. P!nk, real name (Alicia Moore) is a 22 year old singer dubbed by her record label (LaFace) as an R&B/pop artist.. How does a girl get a name like Pink ?? She picked up this nickname as a youngster.. While at camp, she went swimming with her friends.. She swam in her underwear (no bathing suit on hand I guess) and when they went to change back into clothes, she had to remove her wet undies and just wear her shorts.. Her friend Devin pulled her shorts down, which embarrassed her.. She turned bright pink and the name has stuck with her ever since.. Pink grew up in the Philadelphia area, singing with her father.. He introduced her to all genres of music - jazz, blues, country, rock, and gospel.. Like most of the newer pop artists we are hearing about (i.e. Joe, Jessica Simpson), Pink grew up singing in her church.. She went through two defunct groups before she became a solo artist.. In the past, she has done background vocals for several artists including, 98 Degrees and Diana Ross... This album does not stop. It is good from beginning to end. Although my personal preferences tend to be the less hard-hitting songs, there's something for everyone here. If you were a Pink fan from before, dont be discouraged by the things you may have read or heard, she's still got it. You have to be impressed with her audacity to even go there. To just switch her style and be something else. That in and of itself is noteworthy. So if you havent already gone out and get this one. 【P!NK】Missundaztood:Remix Plus The lived lyrics again make her Second CD Gr8. "Missundaztood " was one of the best albums of 2001. Pink proved she could transcend the teeny bopper R&B mold she was stuck in and come back with a totally new image, attitude, and sound. The album is a testament to the deep, thoughtful woman behind the pink hair, and it's delivered with such wit and emotion that it's hard not to take to heart what she's singing. Pink demonstrates a certain level of maturity and intellectuality that's hard to imitate and even harder to ignore. Quite simply, "Missundaztood " is an in-your-face glimpse at Pink's real life, past, present, and future. The title of this record is ironic because there's really nothing to misunderstand about it. It's simply a girl relating her life lessons and experiences, all set to music. Now this is what we need more of in today's mindless pop music market. "Missundaztood " is brutally honest and uninhibited. Rather than singing about love and breakups and whatnot, as she did on her first record, Pink is taking those emotions and applying them to the bigger picture of her life. This album is really like an autobiography. An autobiography of a girl that has come so far and is bound to go even further. Don’t Let Me Get Me - The 2nd single released that brought back more of that edgy attitude we had come to from P!nk. Dallas Austin's 80s style production is also tricky. The verses are sung with a pop drum machine and acoustic guitar but kicks into this rocking bass and drum action for the hook. This song is basically P!nk singing about how all of us can feel sometimes; we’re our own worst enemy and we’re a hazard to ourselves. The lyrics are also really good and clever and contain the infamous line "L.A. told me/You’ll be a pop star/All you have to change is everything you are/tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears/she‘s so pretty/that just ain‘t me. " I guess this song and album was kind of P!nk’s middle finger to L.A. and Arista but in a good way. She's saying, "letting me be myself was the right way to go all along. " I agree P!nk. This is definitely another rocking song. Just Like A Pill - The 3rd single also produced by Dallas Austin and one of the album's darker, moodier cuts. Dallas' production contains more of that 80s vibe with the muted drum pad and synth along with the cascading rock guitar bass line and thumping drums on the hook. P!nk's voice sound stellar on the hook as it’s edgier and raspier and really exudes the frustration of the lyrics. P!nk's heroine is Janis Joplin (whom P!nk will portray on the big screen) and you can tell her influence in P!nk's vocals all throughout the album. Back to the song, as I said, this is darker and moodier as P!nk describes a volatile relationship as being an addiction she just cant seem to shake. The imagery in this song is excellent and P!nk really shows off her songwriting with this song. Excellent track. 【Track Listings】 01. Get The Party Started 02. 18 Wheeler 03. Missundaztood 04.
