"Queer Eye" Cruise
Do you know the show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?" Actually, my wife really likes this show. So, one day, she came up to me and said "Hey...there's a contest to go on a Tokyo Bay cruise with the guys and then go to a 'new half' show, should I try?" I said "Sure, if you want to," but I didn't think that she would win.She did.The cruise was this Wednesday, and we both went.[Now, I realize that some readers may say "Why is Brian always going on a cruise?" Honestly, I don't know.]First, we went to Shinjuku Sta. and got on a Hato Bus. It was a first for both of us.The bus took us to Tokyo Bay, and we got on the "Symphony Tokyo Bay" Fox Television asked us not to speak too much about (and would not let us take pictures with) the guys from "Queer Eye," but they were very funny! The French course dinner was so-so in my opinion (I've had better) and it was what I would call a "Japanese-style-half-course" French dinner. But, we got to see the sunset over Mt. Fuji from the ship, and saw Disneyland from the water. After 2 hours, we returned to port and got on the bus and went to Kabukicho. I didn't know that there is no kabuki in Kabukicho....strange, isn't it? When we got there, we went to the show at the "new half" club Alcazar. Now, I'm not the kind of person who would go to this kind of club on their own, and it was a very "unique" experience. To be honest, I was amazed at their performance.I'm more amazed at my wife, who sent in a 50-yen postcard and won such a prize, but she has some kind of special talent for winning these things sometimes. All I can say is that I'll never watch that show in the same way again!
