妹のホストシスターの娘に、赤ちゃん甚平を手作りすることになりました。

参考にしたのは、きくちいまさんのサイト「いまっぺーじ」というところです。

きくちいまさんはきもの関係の本をたくさん出版されているのでご存知の方も多いですよね。
最近は着物でご出産もされたそうです。

I made a baby JINBEI for my host sister’s doughter.
I referred to the website of Mrs. Kikuchi.
She is a illustrator who publishes some book about Kimono so kind of famous among Kimono-lover. Recently she gave a birth while she enjoyed her Kimono-life.

　　

こちらに、手ぬぐいで作る赤ちゃん甚平の作り方が載っていたので、こちらを参考に作りました。

ところが、赤ちゃん（スペイン人）はどうやら巨大に成長しているらしい･･･。
ひょっとしたら手ぬぐいサイズでは小さいかもしれないということで、今回は手ぬぐいの代わりに、子供用の浴衣などに使われるぼこぼこした生地でつくって見ました。

But I heard that the baby is growing gigantic.
I was afraid that TENUGUI is too small for her that I used ordinary cloth for Kid’s YUKATA.

生地に手ぬぐいをおいてみたところ。
When I put TENUGUI on the cloth.



一回り大きめに裁って、各寸法もそれぞれ大きめに見積もってみました。
I did cut the cloth a little bigger than TENUGUI.

When I cut the cloth and put them together.



おおまかなところはほとんどミシンで縫いました。
難しくはなかったけどちょっと大変でした。でも楽しい♪

I did use machine almost all part.It was not difficult but a little bit hard.
I enjoyed it!

最後に名前を刺繍してあげました。
I embroidered her name on at the last.



完成です！

かなり大きめなので、巨大な赤ちゃんでも大丈夫だと思います！

着てもらったらまた写真載せます！

ひょっとして買った方が早くて安かったのでは･･･という話もアリ･･･。
でも手で作ったってことが大事だよね！？
It might be earlier and cheeper to buy one than make one...
But what important is "I made it"! right??
