■ Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is a bascule bridge spanning the River Thames in London, completed in 1894. Designed in a Gothic style, the central section of the bridge can be raised to allow ships to pass through. The bridge is approximately 244 meters long and is also a popular tourist attraction. Its towers house a museum, offering visitors a chance to enjoy stunning views of London. At night, the bridge is illuminated, creating a striking and memorable sight. When it was first built, it helped alleviate traffic congestion and played a key role in supporting London's development. ![]() Nikon D850 / AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED / f/9.0 / 1/640sec / ISO800 / +0.7 ![]() Nikon D850 / AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED / f/2.8 / 1/5000sec / ISO800 / +0.7 ![]() Nikon D850 / AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED / f/9.0 / 1/400sec / ISO800 / +0.7 ■ London Bridge Many people think that the "London Bridge" mentioned in the nursery rhyme "London Bridge is Falling Down" refers to Tower Bridge, but in reality, they are two completely different bridges. In fact, London Bridge is a rather ordinary bridge, so you might be a little disappointed when you see it. Since it was rebuilt as a stone bridge in 1209, London Bridge has never actually fallen down. Therefore, it's likely that the "falling down" in the nursery rhyme refers to a time when the bridge was still made of wood. It may be an ordinary bridge, but I did my best to capture it in a photogenic way. ![]() Nikon D850 / AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED / f/9.0 / 1/400sec / ISO800 / +0.7 ■ Taken on 27th July 2024 by following Equipment.
