​■ Grand Place Flower Carpet

​​The Flower Carpet began in 1971 and this year (August 15th to August 18th, 2024) was the 23rd time. More than 500,000 flowers were laid over 1680 m2 (70m long x 24m wide) of the Grand Place in Brussels. Around 100 volunteers, all professional gardeners from the Antwerp region, created the carpet in less than 6 hours!​​​​​​

This year, the "Rhizome" was conceived by Océane Cornille as a tribute to Brussels and Art Nouveau.​​​​

Seeing 2024 as an opportunity to break tradition, the main focus was on the magnificent dahlias, instead of the begonias used in past flower carpets.​

You can admire the colorful pattern from the balcony of the City Hall, but a ticket must be purchased in advance. It's worth to see.​​​​
