I am pleased to remind you of the next E7 session as follows:

1) Date & Time: From 14:00 to 16:00 on Saturday June 24, 2017
2) Place: At Nabarie, the next building to Daisan Bank at Nabari station.
3) Topic: What do you think or feel about "sontaku?" (see note below);
what will become of the Paris Climate Agreement now that the U.S. decides to withdraw from the agreement?; Or any other topics.

Please note that I did not even TRY to translate "sontaku" into English. As a matter of fact, I avoided doing that. The reason for doing so can be found in the following statement that an interpreter had made when Kagoike Yasunori, the head of Moritomo Gakuen at the time, held press conference at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ):

Just to add as an interpreter's note, the word "sontaku" is leading to some confusion in the English translation. There are several ways to say this;whether it's "conjecture" or "surmise," "reading between the lines," "reading what someone is implying." So there is not one direct word in English which is what lead to this, just to add some information.

...So when you talk about "sontaku" in this session in English, I think you can use any one of the four mentioned by the interpreter, based on the above statement.　...Or, if you know a better translation, I'm more than eager to hear them.

注釈・備考
私は『忖度』という言葉をあえて英訳しませんでした。その理由は、日本外国特派員協会にて籠池泰典氏が記者会見を行った際に、とある通訳が言った以下の発言に帰することができるかもしれません。

「通訳からの情報として付け加えますが、『忖度』という言葉が英語通訳で少々混乱を招いているようです。何通りかの言い方がありますが、
"conjecture"(推測)、"surmise"(推測する)、"reading between the lines"(行間を読む)、"reading what someone is implying"(誰かが暗示していることを汲み取る)などがそれにあたります。英語で「忖度」を直接言い換える言葉はありません。念のため申し上げました。」

...という訳で、今回の会合で忖度を英語で話すときは、以上より、通訳が選んだいずれかを使うことはできるかな、と思います。
...若しくは、もし、上記以外により良い英訳をご存知であれば、ご教示願います。
