CHRONICLES #101 みんな泰子さんには触りたかった

二行空いて、新しい話が始まります。 ------------------------------------- Greenwich Village was full of folk clubs, bars and coffee houses, and those of us who played them all played the old timy folk songs, rural blues, and dance tunes. There were a few who wrote their own songs, like Tom Paxton and Len Chandler and because they used old melodies with new words they were pretty much accepted. ------------------------------------- これはちょっと驚きました。 当時のグリニッチビレッジは、なんとなくオリジナルソングを引っさげた創造的アーティストがひしめいていたようなイメージを持っていました。 ところが、数あるライブスポットで演奏されていたのは、おなじみの曲が多かったのですね。 自分で歌を書いたトム・パクストンのような人達も、メロディは出来合いのものを頂いてきていたということです。 　→tom paxton 　→Len Chandler Discography 　→LEN CHANDLER 三番目のサイトは『クロニクルズ』のリファレンスサイトのようですが、ディランは実際の曲作りで、レン・チャンドラーの影響をかなり受けていたのですね。 レンとトムは二人とも新聞を読んでおもしろい事件を見つけては歌にしていたようです。 まさにトピカル・ソング(topical songs)です。 以前にも書きましたが、私が最初に触れたころの高田渡さんや友部正人さんの歌には、そういう要素がかなりありました。 　→「高田渡」ヤング720出演時の生演奏 　　「三億円事件の唄」「自衛隊に入ろう」「アポロの唄」 　→友部正人「乾杯」 　→みんな泰子さんには触りたかった ------------------------------------- I had been singing a lot of topical songs, anyway. Songs about real events were always topical. You could usually find of point of view in it, though, and take it for what it was worth, and the writer doesn't have to be accurate, could tell you anything and you're going to believe it. ------------------------------------- 最後の部分には大いにうなずけます。 事実を並べただけで本当のことが見えるわけではありません。 ディランは「真実」を歌えと言っているのです。 ただいまp.82です。
