My English Journey from the Big 6-0 『還暦からの英会話』

​約2週間、楽天ポケットWi-Fiを使ってみて
「良い点」と「残念な点」をまとめてみました。

2回に分けてお伝えします。

​I have used Rakuten Pocket Wi-Fi for about two weeks.

I summarized the "Good Points" and the "Bad Points."

I will tell you about them in two parts.

​●良い点  Good Points

​１、想像以上に広範囲で複数台の接続が可能。

​More Devices can connect over a wide area than I thought.

例えば、​エオリア(パナソニックのエアコン)の専用アプリ​が利用できます。

専用アプリとは外出先から、エアコンの操作はもちろん、室内外の温度や湿度も把握できる優れものです。

​For example, I can use the special app for Eolia (a Panasonic air conditioner).

This special app is great. You can control the air conditioner from outside, and you can check the temperature and humidity inside and outside the room.

エオリア アプリを使用するためには、基本的に固定回線に接続された無線LANルーターが必要とされているのですが、試してみたら問題なく使用できました😊

To use the Eolia app, you usually need a Wi-Fi router connected to a fixed line (like fiber optic).

But I tried it, and I could use it without any problem 😊.
※その場合は、もちろん自宅ににポケットWi-Fiを置いてある前提になります。

Of course, in that case, the Pocket Wi-Fi must be at home.

他、我が家では、キャノンのプリンター接続も可能でした。

​Also, at my house, I could connect a Canon printer.

​結局はスマホ、パソコン、テレビ、プリンター、エアコン2台で最大同時に6台の接続が可能でした。

​In the end, I could connect a maximum of 6 devices at the same time: my smartphone, PC, TV, printer, and two air conditioners.

２、どこにでも持ち歩け、消費ギガ数の心配が無い。

​You can carry it anywhere, and you don't worry about gigabytes (data usage).

当たり前と言われるかもしれませんが、車のナビなどもディスプレイオーディオが主流になりつつある現在、持ち歩けるポケットWi-Fiは大変便利だと思います。
Some people might say this is obvious.

But now, car navigation systems often use display audio (connected to the internet).So, I think Pocket Wi-Fi that you can carry is very useful.

​非常にコンパクトで軽いのでズボンのポケットに入ります。

​It is very compact and light, so it fits in my pants pocket.


３、何と言っても安い！ Best of all, it's cheap! (Low Price!)

​ポケットWi-Fiの器具は​キャンペーン価格​で１円！

使用量は​「楽天最強プラン」​を使うことで、家族割も適用され、ギガ無制限で税込み3160円。

家族割は別居していても、事実婚でも適応されるらしい。

そもそも自分がスマホで楽天モバイルを使って居れば2台目の契約のため、それだけで家族割になる。

​​The Pocket Wi-Fi device was only 1 yen​ (about 1 cent) in a special campaign!

By using the "​Rakuten Saikyo Plan​" (Rakuten Strongest Plan), the family discount is applied.

The usage fee is 3,160 yen (tax included) for unlimited data.

They say the family discount can be used even if you live separately or are in a common-law marriage (domestic partnership).

If you already use Rakuten Mobile for your smartphone, this Pocket Wi-Fi is your second contract, and that alone counts as the family discount.

​楽天ひかりを使っていた時と比べて毎月2000円以上の節約、年間24000円の節約は大きいです。

​Compared to when I used Rakuten Hikari (Rakuten Fiber Optic), I save more than 2,000 yen every month.

Saving 24,000 yen a year is a big deal!
