It is a 2-sen copper coin minted between 1873 (Meiji 6) and 1884 (Meiji 17).


The obverse of the coin is engraved with the word "2 Sen" in the center, the chrysanthemum crest, which is also the family crest of the Imperial Family, is depicted above the letters, and a wreath made of paulownia and chrysanthemum branches is drawn from the bottom.
On the left is paulownia and on the right is chrysanthemum.
It is also engraved with the words 【五十枚換一圓】(50 coins in 1 Yen).

The reverse side of the coin depicted a picture of a dragon in the center, and around it are engraved the year name and the words "2-SEN" and "Great Japan".
Depending on the year of manufacture, the design of the dragon is different and is divided into two types.
