We had dinner on Christmas Eve in our front room, gazing through the window at the cars, pedestrians and snow.
We had: sliced pork with apricot stuffing four different kinds of ham four different kinds of olives sun dried tomatoes roasted peppers soused chilli peppers feta cheese some really delicious sliced cucumber haslet farmhouse pate with mushrooms and two bottles of Hobgobiln beer Junko also had a large bowl of shrimps (I am allergic to shrimps so I didn’t have any) And then we finished off with a couple of slices of stollen loaf (which is a kind of German cake) and a couple of cups of Yorkshire tea. I have to say that later in the evening we each also had a large glass of Bailey’s Irish Cream. Very nice. We were nicely set up for the real Christmas dinner, which I will tell you about tomorrow. On Christmas morning we were sitting in the front room gazing out the window at the snow and the road. In the ten minutes before eight o’clock, only two cars passed by. I was surprised at how quiet it was. Not at all like a normal Saturday morning! After our feast of yesterday evening, and before the feast that is to be Christmas dinner, we just had coffee and stollen loaf for breakfst. Yesterday’s answers 1. c) 2. d) 3. a) 4. b) 5. c) 6.
