Junko has been cutting up some more pumpkins which we have stored in the greenhouse. They are starting to go soft, but it’s not bad that we have kept them since the end of September, is it? We still have a nice big one left, which is showing no signs of going rotten. There is a smell of pumpkin soup in the kitchen now!

One of these pumpkins, which had gone mouldy on the outside, had no seeds in it. That’s strange. We threw it away, but the others were fine.



Junko has just given me instructions on which clothes and other bits and pieces she wants saved if the house floods! I wouldn’t say that our house is on a mountain, and it’s not that far from the river, but if it does flood then half of England will be under water. Still, I suppose there is sense in making oneself ready for every eventuality.
