Yokoso! Japan, Miyajima
From Kareshi D--- Today went better because information desk lady at Hiroshima Eki spoke English well. She was very interested in helping me. I took JR to Miyajima station, then took ferry to island. Everything was efficient and clean. People were very nice. Picture of gate from on board the ferry. I do not understand the point of this gate. The ferry I took with many, many senior citizens. They were very nice. Picture of the gate from the island. This particular gate was built around 1880. Super powerful fall colors. The lady in the picture looked like she was thinking about many things. She stayed for a long time. In this building, I got the fortune for next year which says super good luck! Pagoda built in 1407. I was very happy that this place survived. The top of the hill was very peaceful and spiritual. But the recent painting of the pagoda was very bright orange! From a peaceful bridge on the island. Steps to temple overlooking the island and bay. It was a long way. I thought it was strange to find Muslim tourists doing their prayers at the top of the stairs next to the Buddhist temple. From the temple. No one was inside but me. I felt special but also like I should not be there. Two cute deer who were very relaxed even though many tourists were taking pictures with them. I felt very secure and safe looking at this bay view, thinking that the canal and ocean were after this. Miyajima was very wonderful. It felt very spiritual. Even though I have been to many places in Japan, I thought this was one of the more warm and special places to be. Gift for JapanSFO-san. ↓ I hope this works for him. ★⇒ ★⇒ ↑ Domo arigato gozaimasu. ↑
