門松 at 目白

地球を歩くコツ(1794)

田中邸の門松↑(2020年12月28日、文京区、東京都)  街では、クリスマスの飾りが取り払われ、正月の飾りが目立ち始めました。  目白の田中邸の門の前にも、左右に門松が飾られていました。 People are preparing for New Year’s Day.  After Christmas, you may see Kadomatsu decoration at the entrances of houses and buildings.  Today I saw a pair of Kadomatsu in front of the Tanaka house in Mejiro.【Bon appétit !】  A kadomatsu is a traditional Japanese decoration of the New Year placed in pairs in front of homes. They are placed after Christmas until January 7. Designs for kadomatsu vary depending on region but are typically made of pine, bamboo which represent longevity, prosperity and steadfastness. "The fundamental function is to honor and receive the toshigami (deity), who will then bring a bountiful harvest for farmers and bestow(授ける)the ancestors' blessing on everyone."
