山形県の伝説米「さわのはな」の原種刈り取り作業が１４日、同県長井市の水田で始まった。同市の市民グループ「さわのはな倶楽部」が、来年用の種子２６キロを収穫した。
　◇「さわのはな」は、淡泊で甘みが多く夏まで保存しても食味が落ちない。県内の主力米だったが、栽培の難しさや収量の少なさが原因で十数年前に市場から姿を消した。
　◇同倶楽部によると、今年は２トンの種子を収穫予定。栽培希望者には１キロを分ける。こだわりの伝説米を育ててみるのはいかが。
