秋田県湯沢市の泥湯温泉で、硫化水素ガスを吸った東京の一家４人が死亡した事故を受け、同市は３１日午前１０時、泥湯温泉地区４世帯１６人に高濃度のガスが滞留する危険があるとして、避難勧告を出した。

　湯沢署が３０日、一家が倒れていた雪の空洞を実況見分したところ、硫化水素ガスの濃度は１１８～１３０ｐｐｍだった。湯沢保健所によると、ガスは２０～３０ｐｐｍで呼吸器に影響が出て、１００ｐｐｍを超えると肺水腫になる恐れがあるという。
