食品会社の不正表示
先日サークルで発表するはずだったエッセイを書き終わりました。Many mislabeling by food companies came to light in 2007 in Japan. They had deceived customers for a long time. What abetted them in misdeed? I am going to point out some of the causes of it and suggest how to correct this situation.Firstly, one of those is the lack of morality. These days, it has happened not only in food companies but also in other industries. It probably derived from the excessive commercialism. They can easily put their conscience aside to make more profit.Secondly, the issue of segmentalized society. It seems that the distance between producers and customers is very far nowadays. As a company grow bigger, it is getting harder for customers to know how they make products, and it is easier for producers to deceive customers without feeling guilty.Thirdly, the system of the use-by date. Until that system starts, people decided by themselves if the food is eatable or not. These days, we depend upon the use-by date because many products are made in factory and we have no idea when it was made. However, the most important thing is that it is safe to eat. Most of food is eatable after the use-by date. That's one of the reason those companies mislabeled. In this case, the use-by date lose the meaning. In my humble opinion, to stop mislabeling, it requires internal whistleblowers who have high morality. Government has to protect them from the company and reward them after their exposure. Routine audit by local authorities should be more strict and it needs to be accompanied by a member of a customer group. It prevents companies and public officials from making cozy ties, and it makes companies feel that customer's eye is kept on them. The use-by date should be abolished and only the date of packing may need to be displayed. Customers have total responsibility to judge if the food is safe to eat like we did in the past, although company's morality is a precondition. ☆未チェックです。↑参加中です。読んでくださって有難うございます(^-^)ノ間違いがあったらご指摘くださいね!
