  JCMUを支援するための彦根市への寄付をお願いいたしますDonation to Hikone City to support activities of JCMU 本年もJCMUを支援するための彦根市への「ふるさと納税」に、皆様のご協力をお願いします。2014年から開始致しました、JCMU の活動支援に限定した「彦根市へのふるさと納税」は今年で7回目となり、昨年は皆様のご理解の賜物で160万円もの寄付をすることができましたが、本年はコロナウィルスの関係で、JCMUの活動そのものがストップしていて、財政的にも非常に厳しい状態にあります。このような中、MSU日本同窓会の皆様のご厚意による寄付は、今まで以上に重要な意味を持っています。　MSU 日本同窓会は、継続してこのJCMUの施設を応援する彦根市への寄付を募集させていただきます。毎回申しあげますが、寄付金に対するお礼があるふるさと納税とは違い、見返りを求めない形の寄付ですので、皆様のご理解ご協力のもとに今後も継続していきたいと思っています。なお、寄付額から2,000 円を差し引いた部分については、確定申告時に所得税や住民税の控除の対象となります。本年も同封の用紙にご記入をいただき、12月18日(金)までにお振り込み下さい。寄付金は一括して会としてとりまとめ、控除証明書を彦根市から直接皆様のお手元にお送りさせていただきます。年内ギリギリになってしまい申し訳ありませんが宜しくお願いします。振り込みのご連絡を事務局にいただくのは締め切り日を12月16日(水)までとさせていただきますので、慌ただしい中、ご協力をお願いします。　MSU Alumni Club of Japan has been helping JCMU (The Japan Center for Michigan Universities) since 2014 through the donation to Hikone City where JCMU locates.   MSU Alumni Club of Japan Annual Meeting at Hikone!MSU Alumni Club of Japan invites all the members to join our annual meeting scheduled on May 11(Sat) at Hikone, Shiga. Please bring your family, friends, and prospective students with you to enjoy conversations with many other Spartans.     We have to apologize to members that the annual meeting was moved to September, which was normally held in June. Even though we tried to meet various schedules of guests from MSU, our planned schedule in June for annual meeting eventually could not match to schedules of guests.In addition to the above schedule mismatching, almost a regular member of our Club meeting, Dr. Anthony Ross of the Business School has moved to University of Wisconsin, Madison.     We selected a newly opened Chinese Restaurant, ‘Kurawan” at Shibaura in Tokyo as a place for our annual meeting this year by the recommendation from Mr. Furuichi, our active board member who is in charge of the arrangement of annual meeting.     It has become a very popular restaurant, and you will enjoy the atmosphere there.     Of course, another Spartans’ great performance at BigTen football last year would be the most and terrific topic for all of us. We are sorry to announce that our active board member, Mr. Bill Marklevits suddenly passed away in March when he was in Indianapolis to report NCAA tournament. His contributions to our previous annual meetings such as sales of MSU T-shirts and goods, providing Football and Basketball Videos made our meeting fun. The rest of board members are trying to succeed his part by promoting Spartan spirits, thus to celebrate Spartan football’s great performance, exciting DVD of great games will be prepared for everyone.     A buffet style lunch meeting with Spartan Athletics is the tradition of our Club.   Dr. Honhart 来日

  Dr. Frederick L. Honhart, Ph.D., Director University Archives and Historical Collections と、新橋・新橋亭にて５月２７日（土）に会食をいたしました。Honhart教授はMSUのアーカイブ担当で、過去の写真、資料等を集めています。今回はアーカイブ担当者の国際会議出席のために来日されました。樋口事務局長、マークレビッツ幹事（MSUリエゾン担当）、中谷幹事（メンバーシップ担当）と新橋亭にて

  広告学部アジア研修ツアー

  ＭＳＵ広告学部のＬｉ教授が、３、４年生１２名とともに５月１５日（月）から１週間電通、博報堂、早稲田大学で日本の広告について研修をしていきました。日本に研修で来るのは３年目になります。このあと、北京、上海、香港とアジアの広告についてさらに勉強をして帰国することになります。写真は５月２１日（日）日本の広告学部卒業生との懇親会のものです。今回のツアーには日本人の学生は一人もいませんでした。韓国の学生が３名いて、世界の留学事情も変わって来ているのだなとつくづく感じた次第です。

• MSU同窓会５月１３日に開催

  ＭＳＵの総会＆懇親会が、さる５月１３日、ＭＳＵビジネス学部の３、４年生の研修ツアーの面々を招いて、開催されました。ＭＳＵ同窓生４５名にＭＳＵの先生と学生１９名が一堂に会し、あっという間の３時間でした。写真はビジネス学部のロス先生が挨拶されているところです。

• 夏時間(Daylight Savings Time (DST)

  アメリカは４月１日の夜中から夏時間になりました。正式には２日（日）２：００に３：００になりました。１２時間の時差が１３時間になりましたので、現地と連絡を取るときに時間をお間違えのないように！

• Photo Gallery　春バージョンに変えました。

  かなり長くの間、Photo Galleryが秋バージョンでしたが、先程春バージョンに変えました。写真のリサイズが上手く行かず、内容を変更せずご迷惑をおかけしていましたが、このほど書き換えやすいページ設定にし、さらに技を取得しました。ウェブマスターより

• MSU Alumni Association Annual Meeting

  ＭＳＵ日本同窓会会員　各位いつも同窓会活動にご理解とご協力を賜りありがとうございます。本年の同窓会総会は５月１３日（土）正午から都内で行う予定です.追って詳細の場所などをご案内しますが、取り急ぎ日程のみ決定しましたのでご連絡させていただきます。今年はビジネススクールの学生２０名ほどが日本の企業視察に来日するのに合わせて、教員・生徒の方々も参加いただくことになっています。ＭＳＵの最新の情報交換を持ってきてくれると思います。是非奮ってご参加ください。To: MSU Alumni Club of Japan membersThe annual meeting of MSU Alumni Club Japan will be held from Noon on May 13(Sat) in Tokyo. • MSU同窓会総会及び懇親会のご案内

  ＭＳＵ日本同窓会会員各位新しい学長のDr. Lou Anna Kimsey Simonの来日がほぼ決定し、これに伴い学長をお招きしての同窓会の総会を６月２６日（日）午後４じから東京のキャピタル東急ホテルで開催する予定で調整しています。取り急ぎ皆様にはご予定をいただきたく、ご案内申し上げます。詳細決定次第、正式にご案内を郵送させていただく予定です。今後ともＭＳＵ同窓会活動について皆様のご協力をお願い申し上げます。We are planning to have our annual meeting from 16:00 on June 26th(Sun) at Cap ital Tokyu Hotel in Tokyo. MSU new President Dr. Lou Anna Kimsey Simon's visit to Japan has almost been finalized and we welcome her attendance to our annua l meeting. • 女子バスケ、タイトル奪取ならず

  女子バスケットボールの決勝戦は残念ながらベイラー大学に８４－６６で敗れてしまいました。残念！！今後の活躍に期待して、応援しましょう。

• 女子バスケ決勝進出！！

  昨日の男子バスケットボールの敗戦は残念でしたが、今日は女子バスケットチームが大接戦の末に前半のリードを逆転して68-64でテネシーを破り、明後日のファイナルに見事進出しました。　Ｇｏ　Ｇｒｅｅｎ！！
