三鷹、聞いたか、吉祥寺、二子玉川 and Shibata

This month, Shibata City is holding the Hinabiraki festival.

It's an event where citizens display dolls brought by local shrines and temples.

It also features an exhibition of bridal attire, a quilt exhibition, a tea ceremony, and a concert.

I went to the quilt exhibition and the concert.

The head priest of the temple also performed, playing guitar and singing.

I only have a connection with the temple for memorial services, so these events are nice and intimate.

It's also interesting to see the altars of other temples on such occasions.

It varies a lot depending on the sect.

Most temples have statues of Buddha such as Amida Nyorai enshrined, but temples of the Nichiren sect enshrine the founder, Nichiren.

Although not as important as Islam, idols are not as important as in other sects, and the Nichiren sect aims to connect with Buddha through Nichiren.

A stroll around will make us hungry.

So we had lunch at Nagashima.

We had the Bride Doll Gozen meal.

It is typical of Shibata that it includes the local dish, kara sushi.














Handmade Hina dolls were on display inside the restaurant.

The Echigohime Strawberry Festival was also being held at the same time, so we bought a strawberry roll at Shin Yanagi.




 

This Hina doll was handmade by my wife.



この日は、市の広報紙を見て参加したいという方が見学に来られました。
現在メンバーは１０名で学習にはちょうど良い人数ですが、仕事の関係で休んだり抜ける人もいるので新しい人は歓迎です。
