Maarja: First In Lineエストニア出身のマーヤは1980年12月24日クリスマス・イブにエストニアの首都タリンで生まれた。たしか2000年より前に買ったCD。彼女が16才の時にレコーディングしたそうだ。若いのにバラードがいい。Google の画像検索で最近の彼女の写真を検索。とっても魅力的な女性になっていた。 ◆□◆ discography ◆□◆ <<biography>> Maarja is one of the most popular female singers in Estonia. She has released eight albums and represented Estonia twice at the Eurovision Song Contest - in 1996 and 1997. Her latest album is a collaboration with a well-known estonian pianist and composer Rein Rannap and the Estonian Symphony Orchestra. Maarja has received many awards in Estonia, among them Best Female Singer 1997 and 2006. Maarja´s first international album was released worldwide under Universal Music and sold over 250 000 copies. It was a big success in Japan, but also made an impression in the rest of Asia, Australia and South America. For recording her last international album Maarja lived in Stockholm for a year. There she worked together with well-known musicians, among others Lisa Lindeberg, Chris Hughes, Malcolm and Fredrik from Dead Mono and the very experienced Bernard Lohr who mixed a big part of the album called "City Life". In August 2000, Maarja performed on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds in front of 50 000 people as a support act for Tina Turner. She has also played leading roles in several musicals - "Cats", "Miss Saigon", "Sound of Music" and "Rent". Maarja was chosen as the only Estonian female singer to attend as a soloist at the Andrew Lloyd Webber Gala in Tallinn. Maarja is a serious musician with eight years of classical piano studies behind her. In the year 2006 Maarja protected her Bachelor's degree in Law under the University of Tartu. During summer 2006 Maarja was chosen to perform 10 concerts together with Tommy Korberg, Trine Rein and Geir Ronning in Sandefjord singing the songs of ABBA. In May 2007 she will use the scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, which she received in autumn 2005.
