Yes - it's bad. I love Nia Long and Omar Epps but this movie could have been much better If Tyler Perry directed it. I agree with the other reviewers - it's a stinker and it should have been a Lifetime movie of the week. Netflix needs to stop releasing just anything - I would never see this caliber of movies on HBO or Hulu.
"Fatal Affair" is produced and directed by the same guy who did Netflix's "Secret Obsession" 2019) so you know you are in for a truly remarkable thriller. Not.

Between Secret Obsession, Netflix's "Dangerous Lies" 2020) and now Fatal Affair, this is by far the worst wannabe-thriller of the three. I mean, the director even has over 100+ IMDb credits for Hallmark and Lifetime TV movies. That speaks volumes.

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of this "crazed stalker" sub-genre and I actually wanted to give this a shot based on the trailer and Nia Long starring. I love Fatal Attraction, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, Single White Female and countless others. Heck, I even like some of the PG-13 teen rip-offs that have been released over the years. br>
But this? It's a poorly-written, unsexy, un-thrilling, predictable, laughable TV-movie. Everything you expect to happen happens. The whole production is very PG and lame/tame. The lead character is a bumbling idiot with a massive house. The screenplay is flat. The singer Estelle shows up for 2 minutes. The supporting characters are bland. NOTHING memorable happens EXCEPT for stupidity.

I expect this movie to be in the Top 10 on Netflix this week and unless you love Lifetime movies, then you should skip it. There's nothing to see here folks, and I just hope Netflix doesn't have a backlog of these "thrillers" lined-up for us. Give us some good quality thrillers please.

A generous 3/10.
