旧約聖書「創世記９章其の８から１９書」

GEN09:10 あなたたちと共にいるすべての生き物、またあなたたちと共にいる鳥や家畜や地のすべての獣など、箱舟から出たすべてのもののみならず、地のすべての獣と契約を立てる。
GEN09:11 わたしがあなたたちと契約を立てたならば、二度と洪水によって肉なるものがことごとく滅ぼされることはなく、洪水が起こって地を滅ぼすことも決してない。」
GEN09:12 更に神は言われた。　「あなたたちならびにあなたたちと共にいるすべての生き物と、代々とこしえにわたしが立てる契約のしるしはこれである。
GEN09:13 すなわち、わたしは雲の中にわたしの虹を置く。これはわたしと大地の間に立てた契約のしるしとなる。
GEN09:14 わたしが地の上に雲を湧き起こらせ、雲の中に虹が現れると、
GEN09:15 わたしは、わたしとあなたたちならびにすべての生き物、すべて肉なるものとの間に立てた契約に心を留める。水が洪水となって、肉なるものをすべて滅ぼすことは決してない。
GEN09:16 雲の中に虹が現れると、わたしはそれを見て、神と地上のすべての生き物、すべて肉なるものとの間に立てた永遠の契約に心を留める。」
GEN09:17 神はノアに言われた。　「これが、わたしと地上のすべて肉なるものとの間に立てた契約のしるしである。」
GEN09:18 箱舟から出たノアの息子は、セム、ハム、ヤフェトであった。ハムはカナンの父である。
GEN09:19 この三人がノアの息子で、全世界の人々は彼らから出て広がって
いった。

貴方達や貴方達の共に生きるすべての生命達や世代はいにしえに私が立てる契約の印をこれに示す、すなわち、わたしは雲の中に私の虹を置き、これは私と大地の間に君臨する契約の印となるのだ、私が大地の上にも雲を湧き上げらせ、雲の中に虹が現れる其の時、私は、私と貴方達やそのすべての生き物達のすべて肉体とも成る間に立てた契約の心を示すからだ、たとえ水が洪水と成っても、肉体とも成る、すべてを滅ぼすことは決してしないと約束する。雲の中に虹が現れると、私はそれを観て、神と地上のすべての生き物達やすべて肉体とも成る間に立てた永遠の契約に心を示めすのであるからなのだ。
