The following are the two most important things you need to ensure: that (1) your page loads quickly (under 2 seconds) and (2) your page is as small as possible with the least number of requests. As it may seem obvious by now, there is more to writing SEO-friendly content than ensuring you get a healthy ratio of keywords in. An HTML sitemap (as opposed to an XML sitemap) is often mentioned as being useful for SEO. They certainly are if you use them wisely (and especially Bing seems to like them at times), but I like them even more for the fact that users like them a lot. While an exact-match domain can still rank as well as a traditional domain, they are at a higher risk for being marked as spam and are viewed as being less trustworthy. Ensure that you site is free of spam, malware among other problems for reputable and fast site. With algorithms getting savvier, focus on purchasing quality links and try to earn good inbound links.

Ensure each page has a unique target keyword

Keyword research is an entire sub-discipline within SEO and it’s easy to go down a rabbit hole. Headings give your web page structure and help search engines better determine what your page content is about. Google’s featured snippets, also known as “position zero” on the SERP, can be a great opportunity to get one over your competitors in search results. Let’s not forget the speed of your site, not just because we all browse the web a lot more on our mobile devices, over not-so-broadband networks, but also because a fast site makes Google and in most cases your conversion rate happier. When you are trying to get more links you need to think about quality, not all links are created equal and links from low quality sites will have little or no impact on your rankings.

More content equals better rankings and more links

Reviews tell what other people, your customers, think of your product. If you respond to reviews, you show your (potential) customers that you care about their opinion. Google is also now looking at things like bounce rates – how long someone spends on your website. And it is looking at how your site renders on mobile and how quickly it loads. You can now get penalized for typos and mistakes. Webpages with their target keyword in their URL tend to rank higher in Google than those that didn’t. SEO in Bridlington is here. If you read something interesting on a blog, you should comment. Especially when a post is about something you may have written about yourself as well. In your comment, you can share your view on the matter. You could also place a link to one of your own blogs. For some businesses a point in the right direction is all that is needed, for others that have had an audit carried out they may just need keeping on-track. Dependant on your requirements this can range from analysis of your site and advice given over the telephone to a visit to your premises and coaching given directly to your in-house team.

Utilise influencer platforms to link up with bloggers that can promote you

According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "A site can never have enough content. There is always an opportunity to create new pieces of content, and the newness – or ‘freshness’ – of content is also one of Google’s ranking signals." The type of traffic we want to build is the type that will compound and will never go away. We want to create traffic today that will still give us a little trickle in five years. Combining hundreds (or thousands) of little trickles, our site that converts, and a great product we will create a giant river. Creating infographics that give detailed information about your niche is another great way to build links. People using your infographics will be required to place a link to your site (where they obtained the infographic), thus giving you an easy backlink from a site relevant to your niche. There was a time when SEO really was a matter of determining which keywords could deliver the most traffic, then optimizing your website for those terms, and then building as many links as you could get away with. It was mechanical, and it was simple. But over time it proved to be fully unsustainable. Over the years, SEOs have become really good at understanding keyword intent and segmenting the marketing strategy to match intent.

If you think it’s the end, its not

Smart content is about taking the financial investment that companies make in their content development and channeling it towards a more effective and data-driven strategy. Google learned that when people search for the term “SEO,” they were more likely to click on information over a list of services. So, eventually, the algorithm changed to incorporate this behavior, and now it delivers the types of results it believes the keyword is really asking for. Content Creation is the basis of any website. Whether it is written word, audio voiceovers, informational videos or some other content, it doesn’t matter. SEO is not the techniques we use to get our sites to the top of Google. SEO is simply the objective of getting to the top of Google. Any technique you use to try and get more attention from Google could be considered SEO. Search engines want to show the best content based on context relevance, authority of the site, trustworthiness based on how other sites and people engage with the site, and other factors.

Relevance, not quality

Keywords should never be used to try to trick or mislead human beings or Google spiders.. This means using keywords that do not exactly describe the contents of your page, repeating a keyword over and over in a way that in not natural (known as “keyword stuffing”) or using any other black hat SEO tactics (like keywords in a white font on a white background) are all off limits. The key is to consistently deliver value so that people come to your site for answers. And this is also ironically what will get other good sites to link to your site. This is the perfect example of ‘emergent SEO’. Good ways to boost readability include breaking up sub-topics within your content, using images and videos to help explain difficult concepts, and visually highlighting one or two quotable sound bites that illustrate key points. Websites that receive many inbound links can be more likely to rank higher in search engines. Basically, inbound links tell site crawlers that your website is an authority on a certain subject -- so the more inbound links you have from high quality, high authority sites, the better your website can rank in search engine results pages (SERPs). As Google continues its journey for the perfect user experience on their own site, you have to strive to keep up.
