京都を案内するとき、必ず二条城を案内します。喜ばれるのは鴬張りの廊下と各部屋を象徴するマネキンです。之だけは案内したいということを書いておきます

Let's explain a big difference between Nijyo Castle and other castles.

Nijyo castle was built for the administrative purpose, not military by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1603.
Therefore Nijyo Castle served as residence of Tokugawa family and their retainers when they visited Kyoto.
Ieyasu wanted to　show his authority by building a gorgeous castle and decorated display.
In 1867,Yoshinobu announced the restoration of sovereignty to the emperor at Nijyo Castle,that means that Nijyo Castle witnessed both the rise and fall of Tokugawa shogunate.
There are 33 rooms in Nijyo Castle.
Visitors and traveling Daiyo to the castle were shown into different rooms according to their rank, and each room was decorated paintings arts
by famous artist ,for example ,Kano school.
Uguisubari floors are famous.Even if you walk quietly, the floor squeak .

二条城には2つの家紋があります。一つは皇室の菊の家紋、もう一つは徳川家の葵の家紋、之は二条城が両家により住居となったことを現しています。
