嵐に耐えた空蝉

　柿の葉裏に空蝉をみつけた。羽化してから幾日経つかわからないが、先日来の嵐に耐え、豪雨に耐えて来た。生命は無いけれど、なんとなく愛しい。羽化した蝉もすでに死んでいるだろう。うまく次世代を産卵しただろうか。また来る夏に我が家のこの柿の木の根元から生まれ出てくるだろうか・・    I found the shell of a molted cicada on the underside of a persimmon leaf. I don't know how many days have passed since it emaerged, but the shell has endured the recent storm and heavy rain. It is lifeless, but I  somehow dear the shell. The cicada that emerged is probably already dead. I wonder if it successful laid the next generation of eggs. I wonder if they will emerge again from the base of this persimmomn tree in my garden next summer...
