2019/11/05のGuy Fawkes Dayは香港で覆面禁止法が施行されてから１カ月となり、街はマスク姿で抗議する人であふれました。Guy Fawkesは、今から414年前の1605年、イギリスで王を殺害しようとした事件の実行者とされる人物です。王に反抗したこの事件の内容から、彼の顔を模した「Guy Fawkes mask」が「権力者への抗議」のシンボルとして使われるようになります。
香港でも2019/11/05、大勢の参加者が抗議のためにマスクを着用してデモ隊のテーマソングとなった「香港に栄光あれ」を合唱しました。
