The saddest thing about this scene is that we know there's still another year of fighting before the war finally ends, and there's no guarantee that Schofield will survive. I want to believe that he made it back to his family, but countless men didn't.
I lost interest in the movie barely midway into it after downloading it. The CGI just didn't work well in the movie and didn't look very good.

This movie's technique is amazing, I also felt like I was walking/running with the characters. I only sigh in relief when he stops or rests. I had an amazing experience watching this movie.

That trip wire scene was really amazing specially how they used a rat for it.
Love how war movies are being done in a way that isnt focusing on the fights/shooting. Like Dunkirk, the human element is a main focus and pulls you in.
There are many errors and misunderstandings in this video that's so historically accurate, but the main one that got me was when he pronounced Ypres wrong. It's pronounced eep.

When war thunder has a better movie trailer than a actual movie.
My younger brother is about to join the military, and when he was in the process of it we went to the movies and watch 1917 along with our mother. This scene was the most heavy of all of them. I couldn't sleep that night. Great acting, great messages and powerful storytelling, for this was the story of thousands of soldiers. My prayers to all of them, and all of you whom have family in the military.
If anyone ever need a motivational running track - whack this on on repeat and imagine you're saving an entire battalion 🇬🇧.

Schofield at the edge of the trench looking up desperately to make the decision to run down the line and then going for it. Epic.
I actually liked him bumping into people while he was running it made it seem way more realistic.

The ticking sound in the background really added to the feeling of how time was really running out.
