San Diegoの時からの友だちがメールで送ってくれたのだが、とにかくおかしいので、日記に載せる事にした。
家も男の子がいるけど、出来れば知りたくない事実ばかり･･･!?
アメリカの元気な男の子たち(時には女の子も)の様子が伺えるようだ。
アメリカで子育てしてるお母さんたちはもうどこからか聞いた事ある話かも?

For those with no children - this is totally hysterical!
For those who already have children past this age, this is hilarious.

For those who have not yet had children, this is birth control.
The following came from an anonymous Mother in Austin, Texas. Things I've learned from my Boys (honest):

1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq.ft. house 4 inches deep.

2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all Four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.

5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.

8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.

10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.

11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.

12.) Super glue is forever.

13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.

14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.

15.) VCRs do not eject "PB & J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.

16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.

17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.

19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.

20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.

21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.

24.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

昨日からかなり空気の悪いソウル。
今日に至ってはモヤモヤで遠くが何も見えない。
汝矣島の人でも、ここに来ると空気が悪くて喉が痛くなるという。

私がここに引っ越してきて、仲良くなった韓国人のママ友だちがいる。彼女もご主人、娘さんと一緒にアメリカから戻ってきた帰国組だ。子供はイパルより1才下、知り合いになったきっかけは、家も彼女のところも車を持って帰ってきたのだが、同じメーカーの同じ車種だったことだ。
その頃、まだ韓国にそのメーカーの車が販売されてなかったので、何か問題があったら、どこにもって行けば直せるか分からなかった。
それを聞きに行った所で仲良くなったというわけだ。

言葉があまりスムーズに出ないのは相変わらずなので、忘れてきてしまったとはいえ、英語で話せるのは気持ち的に楽なものだ。
彼女は結構きれいな英語を話す人で、話しやすい相手である。

時々子供たちを連れて、又はイパルが幼稚園に行っている間にホパルだけを連れて遊びに行くが、一番話題になるのは幼稚園のこと。
家は、私が話せないために、あまり親が関わらなくていい幼稚園に行かせている。そこはこの辺には珍しく、あまり勉強型の幼稚園ではない。結構庶民的で私は結構気に入っている。一つだけ問題は、韓国にありがちな一軒家を改造したものなので、全体的にどこもせまいし、外は本当にお庭程度だ。でもこればっかりはこの辺のどこの幼稚園に行っても大して変わらないので、あきらめるしかないだろう。

彼女の子供が行っている所は、英語教育もやっている結構高めの幼稚園。最近出来た小奇麗なビルに入っており、写真を見せもらったが、すごくきれいな施設だ。
彼女がそこに入れた理由は、英語をやらせたいからだ。

彼女のご主人の仕事でアメリカに3年間住んでいたのだが、又3年後くらいにアメリカに行くらしい。
もちろん永住するわけではないが、その時に娘が英語が問題なく話せるようにしておきたいというのだ。
せっかくアメリカにいる間に得た英語、忘れてほしくないというわけだ。

そのために幼稚園で英語を重点的に勉強できる所に入れたいらしく、今も転園することに頭を悩ませている。

私や多くの日本人ママは、子供がバイリンガルな場合、どっちかというと母国語を忘れないようにどうしたらいいか、頭を悩ませることの方が多い。
実際、イパルもアメリカにいた時はある時期ほとんど英語を使っていたが、今では90%韓国語だ。でも私が心配なのは、今度アメリカに行った時に、遅れている英語よりも、忘れてしまうだろう韓国語の方が心配だ。

でも韓国人ママは、結構彼女のように英語を心配するママが多い。この辺のママの自慢と言ったら、自分の子供が英語ばかり話し、韓国語は片言しか話せないということだ。

そういえば、家のハルモニですら、どうせあとで忘れてしまうんだから、ハングルを勉強させなくても良い、なんて言っている。

韓国にいる20代30台の家族の何十パーセントだったか、かなりの割合で、海外移住を希望しているという事だ。以前COEXで移住フェアみたいな催しがあったとき、ものすごい数の家族、特に若い家族が押しかけてきた。

もっと以前には現代デパートのホームショッピングにカナダ移住パックなるものを販売したらものの数十分で完売したという事だ。

韓国語離れの韓国人たち。こんな所にも理由があるのだろうか。
私は韓国語だけでなく、日本語も忘れてほしくないので、今でも時々ひらがなとか教えてるけど、果たしてこれもうまくいくんだろうか。
