バギオの交通事情

ここフィリピン・バギオは高山都市です。
よって、山にへばりつくようにして
家が並んでいるところもあります。

当たりまえのごとく「電車・地下鉄」なんてものは
なく、交通手段は「タクシー・ジプニー」となります。
(a tricycle-三輪車はバギオにはありません）。

･タクシー
　ここバギオのタクシーはかなり安全です。
　夜の10時以降など、女の人が助手席に座ると
　痴漢されたという話は確かにありますが、
　マニラに比べたら「安全！」でしょう。

　最初の初乗りは25ペソ。町から郊外までが
　50-60ペソぐらい。

　･一応、気をつけることが
　　-タクシーメータを最初に動かしている
　　-1人のとき、助手席には乗らない(痴漢と過去に一度バギオでもレイプがあった）
　　-たまに場所をしらない運転手がいるので、
　　 ローカルなとこへいく場合は、場所の名前+違う情報（道路名など）いう
-フィリピンはどこもタクシーがいっぱい。（セッションロードの写真です）



ちなみに。。。
　マニラのタクシーは本当にタクシーメーターを
　動かさない運転手がいます。
　すぐに動かしてもらうように言いましょう。
　彼らは、お金に対して貪欲です。
　この国はチップを認めていないはずなのに
　「チップ･チップ」といってきます。
　特に日本人系の顔をしていると
　要求してきます。最初にこの国に来た方は
　難しいかもしれませんが、拒否しましょう。
　または、英語がわからないようにして相手に
　しないようにしましょう。
　-あらかじめ値段が分かっている場合は
　　最初に交渉するのも一つの手です。
　　（バギオでは絶対必要ないです。）

･ジプニー
　最も安全で、最も経済的な乗り物です。
　短距離1人あたり7.5ペソ　長距離だと8.5-12.5ペソです。
　乗客同士の体の密着度は120%の時があります。
　隣が汚い人だとちょっと辛い場合もあるかも。
　
　3人までのときは、常に自分も使用してます。
　お金の支払いも、運転手にお金を「乗客経由」で
　払います。また、おつりも「乗客経由」で返ってきます。
　最初乗ったときは戸惑いましたが、今では
　なんかこういう平和なシステムもいいかなーと、思っています。

　しかーし、これからのバギオ･雨季のとき
　乗客の体が濡れてて臭い。。。
　だんだん、使用する回数が減るかも。




･同じ距離での運賃比較(自分の住んでいるとこー町往復）
-タクシー往復
　約100ペソ
-ジプニー往復
　15ペソ

2006/5/22 The traffic condition in Baguio

Baguio is a city located in a high place.
So houses are built on the mountain's slope.

As you know, There are no " trains and subways".
There are only " taxis and jeepneys".
(A tricycle - There is no tricycle in Baguio.)

*Taxi
The Taxi in Baguio is quite safe.
I heard that there was a woman who sat down on the passenger's seat in taxi
at night and she was molested by the taxi driver.
But Baguio is safe compared to Manila.

The starting fare is P25 and from the plaza to the suburb is about P50-60.

-You should be careful if you take a taxi.
-The driver uses the taxi meter at first.
-You should not sit down on the passenger's seat near the taxi driver's seat.
(I heard that once a rape was commited in Baguio before.)
-Sometimes the taxi driver doesn't know the road.
So when you go to the suburb of Baguio ,
you should tell the driver "the place's name, and other informations.
( the road name etc...)

By the way ...
Some taxi drivers in Manila don't use the taxi meter.
When You notice that the meter is not plugged you should tell him to plug the meter.
Manila's people are greedy about money.
I think that we shouldn't give a tip in this country.
But they say "Please give a tip."...
You know, especially when they see Japanese's face,
They require a tip. It may be difficult for People who come here
for the first time to refuse it. But you try to reject it.
Or refuse to deal with their demand and pretend that you don't understand English.
---In the first place if you know the correct price, you negociate
with them. This is a good method..
( Abusol utely you don't need this way in Baguio. )

*Jeepney
A jeepney is the safest and the most economical vehicle.
The cost: The short trip cost is P7.5, and the long trip one is P8.5-12.5.
But the distance between customers is very close.
So you feel bad if next customer is dirty and has a bad smell.

I take a jeepney if I am with 3 people.
When I pay the fare, I pay the driver though the passengers.
And I can receive change through the passengers.
When I took a jeepney for the first time, I was at a loss.
But I think that this is a very peaceful system.

Nowadays, it is a rainy season in Baguio,
The smell from passengers is awful.
I might take a jeepney once in a while.


*Jeepney fare and taxi fare
For jeepneys, the round trip fare is 15 pesos
while for taxis, the round trip fare is 100 pesos.

For the first week of your stay in Baguio,
I strongly suggest or recommend that you travel by jeepney.
