As we move through the end of the year holiday season, kicked off with Thanksgiving, it’s a good time to be reminded that small gifts, random acts of kindness, still leave an indelible impression among those who receive them. In Wisconsin recently, a home care company gave out a number of free turkeys to families in need, and as a result their act of kindness was rewarded with recognition in their local news outlets.
Gifts come with a particular intention ensuring a greater bonding with business advocates for future. Selecting such
premium gifts require keen understanding of whom you are presenting such valuables.
Not only does this help improve public perception of home care agencies, it’s also a great way to give back to the local community and raise awareness of the importance of home care support services for disabled and elderly residents.
On top of the media attention that is received and garnered as a result of some of these simple acts of kindness, especially during specific times of the year, it has an exponential potential to reach even more people through social media.
As reported by Fox 6 Now in Milwaukee in the news brief, 500 turkeys gifted to families thanks to Med Group Home Health Care:
“A fall celebration was held in Milwaukee on Saturday, Nov. 17 where Med Group Home Health Care gave out 500 free turkeys to families in the community.
Med Group is a personal care agency providing personal health care services.
They also gave out around $1,200 worth in gift cards.
At the event, flu shots were offered for anyone who needed them — as well as gifts for the kids who showed up.
This year is the second time they’ve done the turkey giveaway.”
This simple article may have only been a few lines long in the local Fox 6 Now news report, but within a matter of hours it had been shared on Facebook 44 times. With pinterest, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, and even email as opportunities to share these simple stories, when people read them and share with family or friends, especially those who may currently be struggling with their own Activities of Daily Living, it can help these seniors and others begin to realize the value in home care aides and services.
Many small businesses, including home care agencies, may focus their outreach and marketing efforts in the form of advertisements, flyers, and mailers, but seeking out what their community needs the most and finding a way to provide at least some measure of relief can certainly be its own reward, but with numerous media outlets and social media, the positive after-effects can be powerful.
