    たまに利用していた海南鶏飯の店「天鶏」が年内で閉店だそうだ。店の出口のそばにひっそりと閉店のお知らせが貼られていて、すぐには気づかなかった。 店の外観や店内の様子が何やらディープな雰囲気だったが、味はそれほど尖がっていなくて、鶏そばなども悪くなかった。なにより値段が安かった。 神保町はカレーこそ有名だが、タイ料理やシンガポール料理はあまり多くはなくて、特に神保町駅より南側の店はどこも値段が総じて高めだ。そんな中、1000円未満でランチを食べられるこの店は貴重だった。12月末まで営業とのことらしいので、年内にあと何回か通ってみようと思う。 It seems that Tenkei, a Hainanese chicken rice place I used to visit from time to time, will be closing by the end of the year. There was a small, unobtrusive notice posted near the exit, so I didn’t notice it at first. The exterior and interior both had a rather deep—almost gritty—atmosphere, but the flavors themselves weren’t overly sharp or challenging. Dishes like the chicken soba were perfectly enjoyable. Above all, the prices were very reasonable. Jinbocho may be famous for curry, but there aren’t many Thai or Singaporean restaurants, and those located south of Jinbocho Station tend to be quite expensive across the board.
