伝統的な一本～バローロ・リゼルヴァ・10アンニ2013（ポジオ・ベル・コッレ）A Traditional Classic — Barolo Riserva 10 Anni 2013 (Podio Bel Colle)
ベル・コッレは、ボジオ・ファミリー・エステートが所有しているワイナリーのひとつ。1970年代にポンテグリョーネ兄弟とジュゼッペ・プリオラ氏の3人によってバローロ地区ヴェルドゥーノ村に設立されました。ベル・コッレは、バローロの伝統派として知られていましたが、1980年にボジオ・ファミリー・エステートの傘下に入り、リュット・レゾネ（減農薬農法）や醸造設備への投資などの改革を実施。近年では多くのワイン評論家から注目される実力派ワイナリーとして知られるようになっています。畑では一貫して手摘み収穫を実践し高品質なぶどうの栽培に成功しています。ベル・コッレは、バローロの伝統派として知られていましたが、1980年にボジオ・ファミリー・エステートの傘下に入り、リュット・レゾネ(減農薬農法)や醸造設備への投資などの大改革を行い人気も品質も急上昇しました。透明感のあるオレンジガーネットで、エッジは少しレンガ色っぽくなっている。香りはブラックチェリーやストロベリー、甘草や八角、丁子などのスパイス、タバコ、なめし皮など、全開とまではいかないが、長く熟成させたことによる心地よい香りがたちのぼる。とはいえ、飲んでみると伝統的なバローロらしく、凝縮されて純度の高い果実味や伸びやかな酸を愉しめる一方で、やや険のあるタンニンが目立ち、ワイン単体で飲むよりはしっかりした肉料理などに併せたい味わいだ。この日は息子が帰省していたので、二人でボトル半分以上開けたが、小瓶に残した残りも数日後に飲んだら十分楽しめた。Bel Colle is one of the wineries owned by the Bozio Family Estate. It was established in the 1970s by the Pontegrione brothers and Mr. Giuseppe Priola in the village of Verduno in the Barolo region. Bel Colle was known as a traditional Barolo producer, but in 1980 it came under the Bozio Family Estate umbrella, undergoing reforms such as adopting lutte raisonnée (reduced pesticide farming) and investing in winemaking facilities. In recent years, it has become recognized by many wine critics as a highly capable winery. The vineyard consistently practices hand-harvesting, achieving cultivation of high-quality grapes. Bel Colle’s reputation and quality have rapidly risen following these significant reforms.The wine shows a transparent orange garnet color with slightly brick-colored edges. Its aroma offers black cherry, strawberry, licorice, star anise, clove spices, tobacco, and leather — a pleasant bouquet reflecting its extended aging, though not fully explosive. On the palate, it is a traditionally styled Barolo: concentrated, pure fruit flavors and elegant acidity shine through, but the somewhat sharp tannins stand out, making it a taste best paired with robust meat dishes rather than enjoyed alone.On this occasion, my son was visiting home, and we opened more than half a bottle between us. Even the small amount left in the bottle was still enjoyable a few days later.
