花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

大学の図書館から阪急電鉄の創業者・小林一三さんの生涯を描いた小説を借りた。小林一三さんは、鉄道と共に百貨店経営や沿線の宅地開発も行い、「私鉄の父」と呼ばれる明治期の実業家。

物語は、一三が慶応義塾の入試のため、山梨から上京してくるところから始まる。小説に熱中した学生時代から銀行員を経て、阪急の前身、箕面有馬電気軌道の設立・発展までを上下刊2冊で構成されている。

I borrowed a non-fictional novel featuring Ichizo Kobayashi, the founder of Hankyu Corporation who managed also department store and developed residential district along its railway.

This story begins when he came from Yamanashi to Tokyo to take the entrance exam of Keio University. It goes his school days, as a novelist, as a bank clerk, and foundation of Hankyu. This story consists of two books and four chapters in each book.
