花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

8月6日は広島・原爆の日。1945（昭和20）年のこの日、広島県広島市上空にアメリカ軍が原子爆弾「リトルボーイ」を投下した。爆発により10万人以上の人々が死亡し、放射性物質が大量にまき散らされたことにより多くの被爆者（ヒバクシャ）を生み出してしまった。

2002（平成14）年、初めて広島へ行って以来、毎年この日の朝、僕は平和記念式典を見るようにしている。原子爆弾を落とされ、広島が一瞬にして焼け野原になってしまったという真実、多くの人が命を落としたという真実を忘れないために、そして恒久平和を願うために…。8:15、僕もテレビの向こうから黙祷を捧げた。

広島電鉄各線も原爆投下により甚大な被害を受けたが、投下からわずか3日後の9日には一部区間で復旧し、しかも無料で被爆者たちを乗せたことが、今でも広電が広島の人たちに愛されている理由の1つだ。


August 6th is the day of the atomic bombing by the United States Air Force over Hiroshima. The A-bomb "Little Boy" killed over 100,000 persons and the many survived and irradiated persons started to be called Hibakusha.

Since 2002, my first travelling in Hiroshima, I always watch the Peace Memorial Ceremony over TV.

Not to forget the fact that the A-bomb destroyed Hiroshima City and killed and injured many persons. At 8:15, the same time the A-bomb hit, I also offer a minute of silence to Hiroshima.

On that morning, Hiroden tram was also terribly damaged, too. However, it restarted to run just in 3 days, besides the citizens could get on it without fare. That's one of the reasons that Hiroden is still beloved by persons in Hiroshima City.
