花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

「真新しいメトロの駅」東京メトロ銀座線・千代田線・半蔵門線表参道駅から根津美術館へ行ってきた。東武鉄道初代社長であった根津嘉一郎さんが蒐集した日本・中国・朝鮮・インドの美術品が展示されている。

2009（平成21）年に改装され大きく生まれ変わった美術館は、入るやいなや竹に囲まれた涼しげなアプローチから始まる。





館内は木の壁とガラスを多用したモダンだが温もりのある空間。6つの展示室に分かれていて、第1・第2展示室がつながっている以外は各展示室は独立している。どの展示室も優しい光が落ち着いた雰囲気を作っていた。

美術館の前には広い日本庭園が広がり、都会のオアシスといった雰囲気。イロハモミジやイチョウの木が植えられ、茶室も4つ備わっている。







今回のお目当ての品は、5000円札の裏面にも描かれている尾形光琳の代表作「杜若図屏風」。根津美術館の展示品ではもっとも有名なもので、国宝である。テレビ東京の「美の巨人たち」では、この作品の特徴は、日本画の特徴とされる輪郭線がないうえ、屏風に描かれているものはカキツバタの群生のみ。ここに「主役は屏風ではなく、屏風の前に座る人」という光琳の意図が見て取れるという。

今の時期、庭園には本物のカキツバタの群生も見られる。

展示されている作品も、建物そのものも、庭もいい雰囲気だった。また行きたくなる美術館になった。





I went to Nezu Museum in Minami-aoyama, north-east of Omote-sando Station, where the art masterpieces, mainly Japanese and East Asian, which Kaichiro Nezu, the first president of Tobu Railway, collected are shown.

As you come the museum finishing reconstruction last year, it begins the cool approach surrounded by bamboos. The interior looks modern but warm because of the large glasses and wooden wall. There are 6 galleries, 3 galleries on each of the two floors, having soft lights creating quiet and calm atmosphere.

The garden of the museum looks like downtown oasis. It has 4 tea-ceremony houses and many trees are planted such as Japanese maple and ginkgo trees, seeming to be beautiful when their leaves turned into red or yellow in autumn.

By the way, what I want to see this time was "Kakitsubata Iris" folding screen by an artist in the Edo Period Korin Ogata, a national treasure of Japan and printed on the back of 5000 yen bill. According to a TV program "The Great Masters Of Art", the outline, the characteristic point of Japanese arts, isn't drawn, and just kakitsubata irises are pictured on the screen, there's no main object as well. This program also said that this work shows Korin's aim; the main part of this work isn't the irises itself, this is the person sitting in front of it.

Now, between middle of April and middle of May, the real irises are blooming in the garden, too.

I want to go to the museum again due to the masterpieces, architecture itself, and the beautiful garden.
