花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

「鉄道ダイヤ情報」を買った。今回は国鉄・JR東日本・JR西日本583系電車特集。

583系は1967（昭和42）年に登場した国鉄の特急型電車。特急列車のネットワークが広がる中で昼は座席車、夜は寝台車として運転できる画期的な「昼夜兼行電車」として登場し、新大阪～博多の特急「月光」でデビューしたことから”月光型電車”の愛称で呼ばれている。

僕の両親は、僕が生まれる前、583系の「ゆうづる」に乗って上野から青森まで行ったことがある。この話を聞いたのが、僕が583系を知るきっかけになった。「ゆうづる」は1993（平成5）年で廃止されてしまったが、これがきっかけで僕の中では「583系=ゆうづる」というイメージができあがった。

雑誌では583系の歴史、現役の京都総合運転所（近キト）所属車・仙台車両センター（仙セン）所属車・秋田車両センター（秋アキ）所属車の各583系の紹介から、583系の撮影スポット、さらには普段見られない座席を寝台に転換させる方法なども紹介されており、583系ファンなら見逃せない内容になっている。

僕は1度も583系に乗ったことがない。僕としては、583系は乗るなら急行「きたぐに」という定期運用がある京都車、撮るなら国鉄色で昔ながらの雰囲気が残る仙台車・秋田車がいいと思う。


I bought the latest issue of "Tetsudo Daiya Joho (Railway Timetable information magazine)", featuring 583 Series.

583 Series was debuted in 1967, when the Japanese economy was growing and limited express trains made the network all over Japan, as the limited express train for both daytime and overnight, and because of its first use, "Gekko" limited express between Shin-osaka and Hakata, it's called "Gekko Type Train".

My parents told me they travelled to Aomori with 583 Series "Yuuzuru" limited express before I was born. This time was when I first knew about 583 Series and since then, though "Yuuzuru" stopped its service in 1993, my image of 583 Series is "Yuuzuru".

I haven't travelled with 583 Series. If I go travelling, I prefer to Kyoto's one, having regular operation "Kitaguni" express, but If photographing, prefer to Akita or Sendai's one, blue and cream-coloured.
