花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

11日、東北地方太平洋沖地震が発生。最初は1923（大正12）年に発生した関東大震災と同じ規模のM7.9と報道されたが、後に8.4、さらに8.8に修正された。このM8.8という規模は、日本の地震観測史上最大で、2004（平成16）年に発生したM9.0のスマトラ沖地震に匹敵するものとなった。

地震発生当時、僕は八幡山にいた。今まで感じたことがなかった強い揺れだったにも関わらず、僕は落ち着いて行動をとることができた。

ご多分に洩れず、ほとんどの鉄道路線が運休になってしまったために、僕も帰宅困難者となってしまった。近くに、同じ大泉学園方面に向かう人と、阿佐ヶ谷方面に向かう人と共に、荻窪駅へと環八通りを北上。途中道路上に見えた井の頭線高井戸駅に、立ち往生してしまった1000系が見えた。本来は停車しない急行電車で、渋谷方先頭車の乗務員室すぐ後ろの客用扉のみ開いた状態だった。

高井戸駅すぐ近くで看板の崩落があった以外は、危険箇所がなく、1時間30分程歩いて荻窪駅に着いた。荻窪駅ではE233系が停車中で、こちらはすべての客用扉が閉鎖されていた。駅舎を通り抜けてバス乗り場へ。思っていた通りの人だかりだった。ちょうどよく大泉学園駅方面行きのバスが来た。すでに超満員の状態で、僕と、もう一人の大泉学園方面に向かう人で最後だった。入口扉から少しも動くことができず、もうSuicaも運賃箱にタッチできないくらいだった。

なんとか帰ってくることができたが、これを機に地震などの災害時の自己防衛対策、電車が止まった時に電車を使わずに帰ってくる方法をもっと考えておく必要があると思った。


On 11th, a big earthquake ("The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake") hit to Japan. At first the TV news said that the Meteorological Agency announced this quake was 7.9 magnitude, the same as 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, but the number was corrected, it was 8.8, the biggest number of Japanese quake and almost the same as 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.

When the earthquake hit, I was in Hachimanyama, Suginami-ku, Tokyo, along Keio Line. Though the quake was strong in my life, I could calm down and behaved in an appropriate manner.

As you can guess, it was difficult to go back home because the most of the railways in Tokyo stopped. Around me, There were 2 persons going toward Ogikubo and Oizumi-gakuen and the 3 started to walk along Kanpachi Avenue. On our way, I could see Keio Inokashira Line train stopping at Takaido Station above the avenue and opening its door just very back of the cab only to allow the passengers to let themselves get away.

The dangerous place was near Takaido Station where a shop sign fell down only and we could reach Ogikubo Station, it took 1 hour and 30 minutes. At Ogikubo I saw a Chuo Line train, E233 Series, stopping and opening no doors. Going over the station building, there were many, many persons waiting for buses. When we came to the bus stop, a bus toward Oizumi-gakuen Station also came. we two could ride the bus but couldn't touch Suica on the card reader.

I could go back home, but I should consider the way of self protect and avoid from the disasters and to go back home without train ride from somewhere else.
