花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

11月5日、ファミリーマートでロールケーキアイスを見つけた。見た目が昔小田急ロマンスカーの「走る喫茶室」で販売されていたお菓子に似ていたので買って食べてみた。

ロマンスカーで売られていたものは「クールケーキ」と呼ばれていたそうだ。僕は本家のクールケーキは食べたことはないが、ネット上に載せられていた写真を見て美味しそうだったので、似たような商品があったら以前から食べてみたいと思っていた。紅茶も僕の個人的な好みもあって、元祖「走る喫茶室」の営業を担当していた日東紅茶のものを使用した。



2005（平成17）年に10年ぶりに50000形電車「VSE」で復活したシートサービス。現在は小田急電鉄の子会社、小田急レストランシステムが営業を担当しているが、1949（昭和24）年の「走る喫茶室」サービス開始当時は日東紅茶が営業を担当した。その後日東紅茶による「走る喫茶室」は1993（平成5）年まで続いた。

現在クールケーキの販売はないが、日東紅茶時代は人気メニューだったと聞いている。


On November 5th, I found a piece of swiss roll with ice cream, looking like "Cool Cake" sold in Odakyu Romancecar in the old time. I heard that the cake was a famous confection among the railfans.

I hadn't ever had the original one, but the swiss roll looked delicious. Since I found a photograph on the Internet, I have wanted to eat a piece looking like it. I ate it with a cup of stewed tea with the leaf from Nittoh Tea, which served drinks and foods in Odakyu Romancecar.

In 2005, the foodservice restarted as 50000 Series VSE debuted, which is by a subsidiary of Odakyu Electric Railway, Odakyu Restaurant System. The original one from 1949 to 1993, Nittoh Tea (Mitsui Norin) served in the trains.

In the present, the swiss roll isn't sold.
