花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

秩父橋から大野原駅方面に歩き、さらに大野原駅から和銅黒谷駅方向へ600mほど線路沿いの道を歩いたところにある踏切にて、秩父鉄道の看板列車、SL C58「パレオエクスプレス」を撮影。

秩父鉄道が「東京に一番近いSL」として売り出している、同線の観光列車であり、秩父を訪れたならぜひともカメラに収めたい車両である。

昨年2013（平成25）年は、広瀬川原車両基地でのイベント展示されていたC58を撮ることはできたものの、営業運転中の同機を撮影できたのは、今回が初めて。

秩父太平洋セメントの工場に隣接した貨物駅、武州原谷駅への引き込み線があるため一部複線となっていることと、カーブを描いていることから、比較的撮影しやすい場所の1つと言える。


From Chichibu Bridge, I walked to a crossing on Chichibu Railway Line between Onohara and Wado-kuroya Stations near Chichibu Taiheiyo Cement plant to photograph the symbol of Chichibu Railway, Class C58 steam locomotive.

"Paleo Express", named after a dinosaur, Paleoparadoxia, whose fossil remains had been found there, is advertised as "the steam locomotive train nearest Tokyo".

Last year, 2013, I got some photographs of C58 at the train shed event, but in its regular operation it was first time for me.

Because of the partly double track and curve, this crossing is one of where you can photograph full of the trains easily.
