花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

“地下鉄のお嬢ちゃん”を慰めたい | 花見 友紀 [pixiv]

数ある鉄道事業者のキャラクターのなかで、最近の僕のお気に入りである大阪市高速電気軌道（Osaka Metro）の車両の側扉引き込まれ注意ステッカーに描かれている“地下鉄のお嬢ちゃん”。

僕は大阪市交通局時代、2011（平成23）年の貼り付け開始当時から、かわいらしい絵柄と解りやすいメッセージ性が気に入り、彼女のイラストも描いた。2018（平成30）年3月に地下鉄各線・南港ポートタウン線（ニュートラム）の列車に乗車した時には、“本人”に会えた。ステッカーを見ているだけで、ケガを負って泣いているお嬢ちゃんを慰めたいという気持ちにさせられた。

今回はお嬢ちゃんの救出後を、彼女を慰めようとする駅員さんの視点で描いてみた。

左手を戸袋に引き込まれたお嬢ちゃんは、彼女の泣き声と完全に開いていない側扉（側扉は開く時に物を戸袋に巻き込むとそれにつっかえて完全に開く前に止まってしまう）に気づいた駅員さんと、その駅員さんに側扉の再開閉を指示された車掌さんに救出された。戸袋に引き込まれた左手が赤く腫れ上がるほどのケガを負い、涙が止まらないお嬢ちゃんに、駅員さんは膝をついて目線を合わせ、優しく声をかけて彼女を慰める。

僕が駅員さんの立場だったら、泣きべそをかいているお嬢ちゃんに「痛かったね。でももう怖くないよ。」と声をかけてあげるだろう。そしてケガをした左手を痛めないように優しい力で抱いて、彼女を安心させるだろう。

最近、特に2018（平成30）年3月に大阪へ行って以来、僕はお嬢ちゃんがかわいくてかわいくて仕方がない。僕が描くお嬢ちゃんは、勝手に“本人”よりもかなりかわいらしく描いていることは認めるが、それでもかわいい、慰めたい、守ってあげたいと思ってしまう。地下鉄・ニュートラムの側扉に貼られているステッカーを見ていると、ただそれだけを単体で見るよりも、手を引き込まれないようにというお嬢ちゃんからのメッセージがより一層伝わったとともに、助けてあげたいという僕の感情もより一層こみ上げてきた。

僕は密かに、お嬢ちゃんがより多くの人たちに愛されるキャラクターになってくれることを願っている。


Recently, I love "Subway Girl" of Osaka Metro best among the mascots of railway companies in Japan.

Since the mind-the-doors sticker with her illustration first appeared in 2011, I have seen that it looks cute and understandable and have represented pictures featuring her to show my feeling of affection. When I went travelling on Osaka Municipal Subway (present Osaka Metro) in March, 2018, I saw the sticker on the doors the first time, which made me feel that I tried to comfort her.

This time, I represent a picture featuring her on a platform after rescue by the view of station staff, who noticed her crying and half-open doors, and a train conductor, who was given a command to close and reopen the doors by the station staff, from the station staff's eye.

The station staff came to her and kneel so that his eyes are level with hers, which was followed by talking to her to make her stop crying.

If I were to be the station staff, I would say consolingly "Don't be afraid" and put comforting arms around her.

From my point of view, she can be really cute. I realize that I represent her more adorably than that on the sticker, but she makes me feel that I would like to take care of her. While in the train, the message she says to warn not passengers' hand to be caught the door pocket can get through to me more than when only looking at the sticker on the PC monitor.

I inwardly wish that she would be beloved by more people, not only railfans.
