「スーパービュー踊り子」の車販土産を食べる

先日伊豆へ行った時、池袋駅からJR東日本251系電車「スーパービュー踊り子」に乗った。そして同車の5号車（モハ250-100）の東京方に設置されている車販カウンターで売られていた「りんごのパウンドケーキ」をお土産として買った。 JR東日本の新幹線・特急列車のワゴンおよびカウンターでの車内販売は一部の列車・区間において3月15日をもって終了する、もしくはお弁当やサンドウィッチ、アイスクリームなどの販売を終了する。NewDaysやKIOSKといった駅ナカ店舗の品揃えが多くなったことが、今回の車内販売の営業規模縮小の一因だという。「スーパービュー踊り子」は、車内販売の終了はしないものの、同日より品揃えが縮小される列車の1つである。りんごのパウンドケーキの販売は継続されるとみられるものの、今後251系の引退も危ぶまれていることから、乗車記念に買った。 グッズが並べられた車販カウンターも写真に収めた。 駅弁を列車に持ち込んでの旅ももちろん楽しいのだが、車内販売の自ら車販カウンターへと出向く行動にはまた違った楽しみがあった。なかにはこのりんごのパウンドケーキのような車内販売限定の商品もあるため、これらを乗車記念に買って帰ることを楽しみとする鉄道ファンもいる。 車販カウンターを設けている車両そのものも、観光列車を除いて少なくなっており、定期運行を持つJR東日本の車両では251系電車のほかには存在しない。 りんごのパウンドケーキは、甘く煮られた小さめのざく切りのリンゴの実を練りこんで焼かれたものである。ケーキを食べてみたところ、しっとりとした食感の中にリンゴの香りがしっかりと漂っていた。ざく切りリンゴも素材本来の甘酸っぱさとサクサクとした噛み応えが残り、美味しかった。最後の「スーパービュー踊り子」の車販土産だったが、列車の車窓から見えた海を思い出しながらケーキを食べた。 When I went travelling to Izu, I bought a pack of sliced pound cake at a service counter in 251 Series "Super View Odoriko" limited express as my last souvenir there. Because of the increase of the sales at the convenience stores and kiosks in the stations, the wagon and counter services on some Shinkansen and limited express trains in JR East area are finishing or some goods and foods, such as bento boxed meals and cups of ice cream, finished being sold on March 15, 2019. Though the goods sale on the wagon service or at the service counter isn't finished on "Super View Odoriko", I wanted to buy something because the retirement of 251 Series may come in a couple of years. While travelling, I shot the service counter with many goods stuck. I feel that going to the service counter has different fun from bringing Ekiben boxed meal from the station because some goods are sold only on the train, such as the pound cake. Some people including railfans buy the goods as the pieces of evidence for the travel. The railway carriages equipping the service counter decrease and those owned by JR East having the regular operation is 251 Series only. The cake is baked with baked apple. It has a soft and moist texture and smells like an apple and remains sweet-sour taste and crunchiness of an apple. While eating, I remembered the view of the bay over the train window.
