【Daily Briefing:5月28日】http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2015/05/242972.htm#JAPANQUESTION: (Inaudible) Okinawa governor is arriving this weekend. Do you have any update who is meeting from this building with him?MR RATHKE: We look forward to the visit of Okinawa Governor Onaga to Washington. The director of the Office of Japanese Affairs in the Department, Joe Young, is planning to welcome the governor to the State Department and meet with him while he’s here.QUESTION: What is the message from the U.S. Government to him, who is opposing the U.S. forces realignment plan?MR RATHKE: Well, you’re probably familiar with the U.S. position on this. Most recently when our defense and foreign ministers met at the 2+2 meeting in New York, the ministers from Japan and the United States reconfirmed the plan to construct a replacement facility for Futenma at Camp Schwab as the – it’s the only solution that addresses all of the operational, political, financial, and strategic concerns, and that avoids the continued use of the air station at Futenma. So the ministers reaffirmed our government’s – both governments’ unwavering commitment to the plan and their determination to achieve its completion. And that would also be – include the return of Futenma to Japan. So we welcome the steady and continuing progress toward that end.【要約】安倍総理訪米中に行われた、2+2ミーティング(岸田外務大臣vsケリー国務省長官、中谷防衛大臣vsカーター国防長官)により、辺野古移転が唯一の解決策だということを再確認した。 【JOINT STATEMENT OF THE SECURITY CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE A STRONGER ALLIANCE FOR A DYNAMIC SECURITY ENVIRONMENT 】http://www.mod.go.jp/e/d_act/anpo/pdf/js20150427e.pdfAs an essential element of this effort, the Ministers reconfirmed that the plan to construct the Futenma Replacement Facility (FRF) at the Camp Schwab-Henokosaki area and adjacent waters is the only solution that addresses operational, political, financial, and strategic concerns and avoids the continued use of MCAS Futenma. The Ministers reaffirmed the two governments’ unwavering commitment to the plan and underscored their strong determination to achieve its completion and the long-desired return of MCAS Futenma to Japan. The United States welcomes the steady and continuing progress of FRF construction projects.
